The National Council of African Women (NCAW) is a non-for-profit organization with membership in: Northern Province, Gauteng, Northwest, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Natal, Freestate, Nigeria, West Africa, Chicago, Illinois, and Matteson, Illinois – U.S.A. The focus of the NCAW-Illinois Branch, located in Matteson Illinois, is to address the needs of HIV/Aids orphans in South Africa, and in the United States. Also, to explore a delivery systems for bridging gaps that exists in the African Diaspora.

We're inspired by:

National Council of African Women: Parent Body, South Africa In 1937, Ms. Zmina Soga founded NCAW in Bloemfontein, South Africa. The purpose of NCAW is to serve in the interest of the indigenous groups of South Africa.

U.S. South Africa Foundation (USSAF) Dr. Kristen Rajoo, present Consul General from South Africa to the United States, founded and established USSAF in Chicago, IL. This foundation aims to address the plight of South Africa’s HIV/Aids orphans.

African Women’s Organization (AWO) Mrs. Felicia Johnson founded and established AWO in Chicago, IL. The organization was a product of her wanting to help communities to become self- sufficient.

Join us in our advocacy of helping indigenous African women and children through education and training opportunities. World Aids Day

This event includes free testing for 14-24-year-olds or a targeted age group. We will provide education as well as activities for the youth to increase awareness about AIDS.

Empowering Women: Gala Concert and International Women’s Symposium

The focus of this event is on health advocacy, economic empowerment, education, and training for women and girls.

African Travel

Get the chance to connect with the historical side of Africa as well as other parts of the world. Travel to various countries through cultural exchange and education.

Seniors Day

This event is dedicated to providing support and resources, including meals, to nursing home residents. We aim to make our seniors feel loved through these kinds of events.
