Who Are We?

National Council of African Women – Illinois Branch is dedicated to empowering women and children of African descent. We aim to provide charitable services and educational awareness to at-risk communities.

The international project of our parent body for the 2000s is the HIV/AIDS initiative, centered around the orphans of South Africa. We aim to provide economic empowerment, food and clothing. Our efforts will help to build shelters and clinics, as well as combat the spread of HIV/AIDS through intensive education.

How We Help

Within the Matteson-based branch, NCAW Illinois Branch, there is a focus on addressing the needs of American and South African orphans who live with the HIV/AIDS virus. In our work, we are purposeful about bridging the gap between all peoples of the African diaspora.

NCAW- IL Branch Vision

Our vision is to support communities to become more self-sufficient, provide nutrition and health maintenance programs, and help communities access educational resources. Our Matteson, IL based branch works to achieve this vision in the community by: (1) Establishing Partnerships,

(2) Facilitating Educational Programs, and

(3) Offering Networking Opportunities.

Living Our Mission Through Our Work

Annually on World Aids Day (12/1), we plan and facilitate World HIV/AIDS & Social Health Awareness Seminar. The forum promotes solutions to many of the public health challenges faced by youth between the ages of 14 and 24.
