Who We Are

National Council of African Women, Illinois Branch is dedicated to providing charitable service and educational awareness to at-risk communities. The National Council of African Women (NCAW) is a non-profit organization with membership in Northern Province, Gauteng, Northwest, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Natal, Free State, Nigeria, West Africa, Chicago, Illinois, Matteson, Illinois, USA. The focus of the Illinois Branch, located in Matteson, Illinois, is to address the needs of HIV/AIDS orphans in South Africa and in the United States. Also, to explore a delivery system for bridging gaps within the African Diaspora.

Our Philosophy

Every human being on earth has the right to educational and spiritual resources to lead a meaningful and rewarding life. Our values at NCAW are the following:

  • Promoting self-help among members of different communities
  • Serving as an information resource on the needs and interests of families in the communities
  • Organize, initiate and support such projects to address the needs and interests of different sections of the community, such as people with special needs and the youth
  • To activate problem solving for different segments of communities experiencing crises
